Engineering for the Americas

UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER

Founded in 1850, the University of Rochester is one of the nation's leading private research institutions. Located just three miles from downtown Rochester, New York, the University's River Campus is situated on the banks of the Genesee River. Sixty-five acres of manicured lawns and quadrangles provide quests with numerous outdoor recreational opportunities, including a walking path along the River and easy access to the Olmstead designed Genesee Valley Park.

Employing over 17,000 faculty and staff members and attracting hundreds of millions of dollars in research funding to the area each year, the University is the largest and most prestigious institution of higher education in the Rochester region. In addition to the schools on the River Campus, the University also includes the Medical Center, School of Nursing, Strong Memorial Hospital, Laboratory for Laser Energetics, Memorial Art Gallery, and Eastman School of Music.

ON-CAMPUS RESIDENCE HALLS

University of Rochester River Campus residence halls provide an economical and convenient option for conference housing. On-campus living provides a unique opportunity to mingle with other conference guests and offers easy access to meeting facilities, and meals.

Conference attendees will be housed on the Residence Quad, which is just a short walk from academic buildings, Wilson Commons and Douglass Dining. Each residence hall room has a bed, desk and chair, bookcase, dresser, closet space, and a wastebasket. Rooms have basic window coverings for privacy but are not air conditioned. There are separate restrooms for women and men on each floor.

Included in your housing fee will be a pillow, blanket, sheet set, bath towel, hand towel, washcloth, and a small toiletry kit. You should plan to bring anything else you need to make your room more comfortable.
